Pregnancy, Postpartum and Beyond

Are you overwhelmed by all the changes of motherhood?

Maybe you are frustrated because you aren’t feeling the “pregnancy glow” or perhaps you are tired of waiting for your experience to match your expectations. You may be feeling stuck in survival mode, drowning in laundry, wearing the same spit up stained sweatshirt a fifth day in a row, or simply that you’ve lost your sense of who you are outside of “mom”. Perhaps you’re feeling “mommy shamed” and that you aren’t doing it “right”.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life, feeling:

  • Disconnected; from your body, from your baby, or from your partner.

  • Anxious or depressed, losing sleep from the many pressures that come with bringing a new human into the world.

  • Anger or grief; you want your “boss bitch” body and life back.

  • Disappointed and frustrated; this isn’t what you thought it was going to be. Why didn’t anybody tell you it was going to be like this?

  • Scared you aren’t cut out to be a parent.

Perinatal Therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can feel like you are sitting in the driver seat again. You can be a great parent while having a connection to your identity as an individual. You can find your own way to be a parent that works for you.

Perinatal Therapy will help you:

  • Create a judgment-free space to explore your experiences and feelings without shame.

  • Examine fixed beliefs you have adopted from your family and your culture.

  • Learn tools to help you trust yourself so you can be who you want for your family and yourself.

I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to perinatal therapy comes from a place of possibility: believing that with tenderness and perspective, you can embrace where you are on the journey to familihood.

You don’t have to live life feeling shame and disconnection from yourself and the ones you love. I can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are perinatal therapy sessions like?

A: We will meet weekly for 50 minute video sessions.  Our sessions will give us the opportunity to slow down and take a closer look at how and why you have come to hold certain beliefs around what’s happened, or how you are feeling. Every once in a while you might get to see a curious cat, but only if he is feeling camera ready.

Q: How do I know if perinatal therapy will work for me?

A: While there are no guarantees, we will explore your circumstances intentionally and at a pace you are comfortable with. We will examine your feelings and experiences, working collaboratively to develop the tools you need to be present and navigate your way through this tremendous transformation.

Q: How long do I need to be in therapy?

A: I believe you are the expert of your own life and know what’s best for you. I am just here to help guide you to find it. The short answer is everyone is different and their time in therapy differs for a variety of reasons.

Q: Should I see a therapist?

Choosing to see a therapist is a personal decision, but for me, I believe we could all use a person in our corner to help us detangle life’s emotional knots.

Q: What does a therapist do for me?

A: It isn’t what I do for you as much as what we will do together. I will guide you and bring an objective perspective, allowing you to feel safe and empowered to explore the things in your life that feel misaligned with what you want.

Q: What is Telehealth?

A: Telehealth is another word for remote or virtual sessions.  I see all my clients remotely. If you would prefer to meet over the phone, that is also possible.

Q: Where is your office located?

A: Currently, I see all my clients remotely through encrypted video chat. I serve the Greater Bay Area and California.  I am based out of Marin.

Q: Do you take my insurance?

A: At this time, I do not take insurance.  I can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider.

Q: How do we get started?

A: Great question!  First, click the button below “Schedule a free consultation” to book our initial call.  During our initial 15 minute call, we’ll have a short conversation about what you are looking for, answer any additional questions you might have, and get an opportunity to see if we’re a good fit.

You don’t have to face the journey alone. I can be your guide, honoring and supporting you in this chapter of your life.
